Video: 'were You Fooled?' Millions Freaked Out By 'aliens' In Bristol Were Conned

It followed creepy footage of other strange occurrences in the city over recent weeks including a poltergeist in a newsagents and UFO sightings. But after notching up a million YouTube hits, the videos - nicknamed "Close Encounters Of the Bristol Kind" - have been rumbled as an elaborate PR stunt by UKTVs entertainment channel Watch. Experts had suspected the squid-like E.T. may have been dragged in from the sea by the recent storms. Dr Steve Simpson, from the School of Biological Sciences at Bristol University, had said: "It's very intriguing - I don't really know what to make of it." Bristol's Labour MP Kerry McCarthy tweeted a picture saying: "In other news, a giant jellyfish/ squid/ alien has been spotted in Bristol harbour." Paranormal followers were at a loss to explain the corner shop ghost - some even linked events to legendary Bristol artist Banksy. Is that real? Locals spooked by giant squid in Bristol harbour [Barcroft] But we can confirm the elaborate campaign is to promote 'The Happenings', a new illusion series from the producers of Derren Brown. The series follows magicians as they set about making the unbelievable believable to the unsuspecting residents of towns across the UK and America.

3 Things Investors Must Watch At Bristol-myers Squibb Co.

A slow US launch had to be expected, as it followed Boehringer Ingelheim's Pradaxa, and Xarelto from Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ ) into the market. The analyst community was convinced that Eliquis' superior safety profile with respect to dangerous bleeding episodes would propel it past its competition . During the first nine months of 2013, sales of Eliquis in the US only reached $49 million, while Xarelto reached $246 million during Q3 2013 alone. Bristol-Myers has stepped up its game, by sending physicians into the field to educate other physicians of Eliquis' safety profile. A supplemental new drug application that would extend the anticoagulant to treatment of hip or knee replacement patients post-surgery is also under review. Be sure to keep your eyes and ears open for any signs of improvement from what should already be a drug heading for blockbuster status.

Bristol Gets Its Own Version Of The Hollywood Sign

Fixed to a mesh fence half way up a sloped rock face, the Bristoland sign is about a fifth of the size of its Hollywood counterpart. Mr Hayled added: It must have been an experienced climber to get to that spot on the side of the gorge. They must have used climbing ropes to get up there. It was a bit of a risk but from the massive reaction its generated I guess they will feel it was worth it. The sign has proved a hit with Bristolians and those travelling into the city for work. Amy Willerton tweeted: Whoever did this is a legend!!!! I salute you. Prue Connolly tweeted: "Whoever has put up the bristoland sign on the Avon gorge. It looks amazin fair play. Epic work. Made my day on the way to work." Hannah Volpe said: "Looks just like the Hollywood sign.
